Totemsby zeuszenComment by ScottK: Tough. My first thought is of the sound of the wind in the empty trees. But I suppose I can see a more abstract sense of silence - the silencing of the life they once had. Very nice, striking image. 7 |

Totemsby zeuszenComment by Paclo: This is such a delicate and evocative image that one can feel the quiet (and the cold). |

Ropeby zeuszenComment by andywightman: Very engaging image. A tighter crop would also work very effectively retaining only the bottom third? |

Girl with Dogby zeuszenComment by e301: i like very very few photographs that use flash - there's always something of the element of cop-out about it. here you've brought it thoroughly to the fore, privileged that slightly surreal look, and it's hugely atmospheric, and perfectly balanced: as though the world has backed off for a moment to allow you to take this shot. |

Anomalyby zeuszenComment by jmsetzler: I like this one even better. The 'anomoly' in the lower right part of the frame creates a nice point of interest. |

David and Goliathby zeuszenComment by zeuszen: Thanks for all the comments, everyone.
As most of you recognized, yes, of course, I employed a tripod and slow shutter speed (f 8.0 : 1/30) to render what is here.
A speed slower than this would have tranquilized the beast to a point of false pleasantry, uncharacteristic of the given. To provide an idea of the sheer size and volume of the falls, the image represents approximately one third of the total cascade. |
