I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives:There is just something about this image that resonates with my brain. The rotational scratches and the 'spattery' marks that allude to centripetal forces creates a sense of dynamism. This sense should be smothered by the grey coloration but the light of the reflective metallic surface breathe life into the image. I also like how the grey has so much variance.

Critical stuff: More of an observation but you already know this image is unlikely to be accessible to all.

Overall: I think this is a confident image from someone who knows their way. Nicely done.

Well, yes indeed it is ... in style, in spirit, and also (with a bit of imagination) in cartographic terms. It's a beautiful thing, and effortlessly transcends the photographic medium. But I'd hang it on my imaginary wall of 2010 photographic excellence, because I don't have a wall of transcendent excellence yet. This definitely goes up there when I do. Thank you.

Reminds me of Japaneses art, but without a subject. If you were going for a interesting pattern or backdrop you nailed it, but maybe not for this comp. Good Luck
