First among the many great choices you made in creating it was the decision to get down to her exact level ... a simple instinct that made all that followed possible. The thing that sets these "other world" images of iconic standard aside (and this one is certainly in that company) is that they are brutally confrontational without resorting to sentimentality. I won't forget this photograph. |

This has to be John White ... not just because of the location, but also because of the meticulous composition and the restraint in processing.
