Morningby cpanaiotiComment by Philos: I rated this picture low, and I like to tell you why. I am not a great photographer myself, but I know what I like and I know what I see, so here is why I voted low.
I can't make out realy mutch of yhis picture.
Is that grass around the bench?
It looks a bit blurry, not out of focus, but blurred, and I see some water, what's that doing there? Is it on your lens? Did you mean something with it?
And the the biggest thing, you call this morning, but the shadow of the bench is almost under it, so that would suggest it's noon, and not morning.
It's a strange picture, if it is meant to be arty, then I don't get it sorry. |

Morningby cpanaiotiComment by selectivememory: Needs a lot more contrast. Also, the composition leaves me wondering what the subject is. Too many compoeteing elements: the chair, the swath of grass, the road. |

Summer (8 x 10)by cpanaiotiComment by mirdonamy: I don't really understand. You took two photos of the same thing, in Raw? Then, you blended them? Hmm, the picture is beautiful. I just want to know how you did it, step by step. Did you use Photoshop? |

Across the Riverby cpanaiotiComment by graphicfunk: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
First: Congratulations on your good image. The composition and technical aspect are almost beyond question. When I first looked at your study, it gave me the subtle feeling that the sky was pressing down on the strip of land and cityscape. Upon closer examination I would have chosen to correct the horizon. This would also place the pole parallel to the right side of the picture. In pictures like this, the horizon is critical. By making it straight it gives the base the stability it needs to offset the overwhelming sky. With so much sky. you do not want anybody to question the line of division betweem sky and land.
Of course, the sky is beautiful and I can tell by your shooting angle that this was the effect you sought. Keep up the good work. dan
