| 04/08/2008 04:49:01 PM | Under The Covered Bridgeby ZeppKashComment by bradshaw: I agree with every one that this is a very good use of HDR. The ting that bothers me about this picture is whats in the opening of the bridge is kinda bland like something is missing from the image. I would have liked to see some one maybe not out side but actually inside the bridge walking out or even a car driving out. great editing great use of patterns and symmetry, keep up the great work. |

Really did a good job of evening out the exposure levels, and your thumbnails of each shot show that well, too. The roof trusses and the scenery beyond the bridge are the most interesting parts of this image - the track-covered snow is not so much, though a small bit of it serves well to ground the shot. I'm thinking a crop of some of the foreground would make this stronger overall, and I'm betting this is a lot better at a larger size. The DPC size restrictions sometimes hamper the impact somewhat. Again, super job with the HDR - you used it exactly as it was meant to be used without going overboard. |

As mentioned by surfdabbler maybe a person at the end of the bridge could have helped, although people in HDR look weird, so maybe not. You'd have to test that. I like the HDR conversion, it has that HDR look but not overdone. My only comment would be that you could have stood like one step to the left to be in the dead center of the bridge, that way you'd get perfect symmetry on both sides. Hope this helped |

Nice HDR work without going overboard on the HDR. :) This seems to reflect well what you probably saw when you were there. The texture and shape of the bridge seems to be making a frame. It's a nice pattern of lines and the perspective directs the eyes to the picture in the centre of the frame. Unfortunately that picture within the picture is very small, and there's not a lot there, and I think this is where the picture is lacking. Maybe if you walked further along the bridge, it would open up a nicer scene behind? Or mabye make it a portrait location for somebody in winter clothing, sitting against the wall, or walking in or out. This shot doesn't quite work as a standalone landscape, but it makes a nice location, and is just waiting for the addition of an interesting subject.
