The Gatheringby jmsetzlerComment by Rooster: ditto as the other post challenge comments.
This is obviously a great shot, no doubt about that. No doubt also, by your admission, that it does not meet the challenge. I have to admit I was astounded to see it was yours. Never thought I'd see a shot by you anywhere other than the top.
I like your explanation of the shot. Very methodical & intentional which I think speaks volumes to your fotographic talent & ablities.
Will you hit us back as to why you chose to enter in a challenge that it didnt fit in or are we being a tad nosey? |

The Gatheringby jmsetzlerComment by Rgarcia: If you're trying to get a Brown Ribbon, as Jacko did... It'll be very difficult. Your photographs are too good despite the obvious not meeting the challenge.
However, if you're trying to make a statement.... I'd love to hear it. |

The Gatheringby jmsetzlerComment by TooCool: I too am curious as to why you would enter this into a challenge that you yourself says it doesn't fit.
As to your own criticisms of your shot. I love the lighting here and the way it draws your eye into the shot! And as for the twig... My vote is 'Leave it', if my vote counts that is...
TC
Edited: I read your description again and realized that the lighting was not a criticism, but a comment on what the voters would accept. Once again though I must say I love the lighting in this one... Message edited by author 2004-03-08 00:32:49. |

The Gatheringby jmsetzlerComment by ChrisW123: John, why did you enter this pic in Fire if in your own words you say "I can't imagine being able to tie this image to the theme of 'fire' in any way." ???
Nice pic but why for this challenge?

The Gatheringby jmsetzlerComment by Diversq: I think this is a very beautiful image, nicely composed and tack sharp where it neads to be. Unfortunatly it dosent bring to mind fire. I realize it can be used to put out fire but I still dont see this photo showing or bringing to mind fire. Still very nice shot. |

Silenceby jmsetzlerComment by Glen King: Moving water cannot be silent. Try a higher iso and/or faster shutter speed if possible. |
