Ballet Slippersby dtremainComment by Yo_Spiff: Ouch. Sorry to see it here. I think it deserved a bit better, but we both know the mass opinion can often be harsh. |

Sun Dial on an Overcast Dayby dtremainComment by bohemka: Not enough here, I'm afraid. Maybe a different angle would have brought out the dead plants a bit more, or framed the sun dial around the gazebo or whatever you want to call that column structure. Tough right now... trust me, I know. But while I still rated this high I would have rated it higher with a bit of a different composition. |

Ballet Slippersby dtremainComment by Luci11e: just my opinion but I think this photo would have been more effective without the object at the bottom of the photo. |

Sun Dial on an Overcast Dayby dtremainComment by byetko: I like your shot, it has a wow factor to it, but its hard to figure out what the focal point is. I can't tell if its the metal object in the foreground or the really big set of columns behind it. I imagine its the foreground. I think this could have stood out more if the object didn't end overlapping the big object behind it. Its also left side heavy with both objects taking up the left side and also both leading the eye out of the image and away from the unnoticed right side. Good work though. 6 |

Nice shot, I would have framed it slightly different, by using the rule of thirds. More specifically placing the metal structure in the front (sun dial in summer?) on the bottom 1third.
Well done, 7/10 |

Bandanasby dtremainComment by Yo_Spiff: Man, you got robbed! This is one of your best. It got an 8 from me. The colors and textures are great. Light is perfect for the subject. I guess the subject itself failed to capture attention, is the only thing I can figure.
A high commenters average tells me this did find some folks who recognized the good photograph in this. |
