A very bored gargoyle.by WildpurpleComment by Teafran: An interesting title as the gargoyle is mythically supposed to be an eternal "watcher" if you will - so a bored gargoyle would have to have been very old indeed. Interesting take. An efficient and competant converison and capture. |

Eye of The Stormby WildpurpleComment by HarveyG: Not sure this meets the challenge, lighting is from the subject, technically OK but my understanding should be from behind or side of subject. |

Moss on Barkby WildpurpleComment by fisheye: The lighting is a bit too bright perhaps and the focus on the moss could be sharper. I find that overcast lighting is much softer and subtle. |

Moss on Barkby WildpurpleComment by vikas: Would have been a nice macro if the lighting was better! Classic case of camera metering fooled by the situation, usually I have noticed using the low powered flash and underexposing the shot with a brightly lit situation like this helps get the deep green of the moss! Also playing with WB should help! |

Going to Churchby WildpurpleComment by wyverndragon: Moose Peterson, wildlife photog, emphasizes at every soapbox he's given: The brightest thing in a picture grabs the attention of the viewer.
Accordingly, this image has a heavenly light from above wiping the sky to white? :)
Maybe shoot this image in late evening just before or just after sunset. |
