The dog makes a great subject, I never thought a dog would, but this is an awesome looking animal. I don't think your background works at all, however and is a bit overexposed. (and busy, maybe?) Also, I was very impressed when the top portion of the dog's head was loading (exposing that awesome colored eye) but I was disappointed by the large mouth and teeth. I either would have cropped his mouth and background off (just use the top right portion of the photo) or taken a different angle entirely. He's pretty though. I think a few more shots of Bear and you would have had it.

Simply beautiful dog portrait. The icey blue of the dog's eye really catches your attention. Not sure why you did the boarder the way you did, but still worth a 7.
