I prefer this shot, though I understand why you did what you did for DPC. I myself fall into that trap alot - trying to "clean it up" and ending up dilluting what was a decent shot to begin with. But do keep shooting from the hip - it's a lot of fun and you get some very suprising and interesting results!!

I'm not sure about the color tones, but the shot itself is very interesting. Great for the dappled light challenge and I like this one better than your entry. The lighting really adds to the overall feel for the shot.
