untitledby bvyComment by jmritz: This is scary. The 'help me', upper left, the picture shattered. The grime of the crime scene. |

untitledby bvyComment by Paul: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: And I thought I'd already found the bvy image! Although I can see this as paper on the ground, the overall effect is one of a discovered crime scene... A body barely covered along the edge of a path. The impression you have created here imbues the image with real power. The Sycamore pod is really important too - it shows us the scale of the image yet my mind refuses to accept the smallness of the face. That dichotomy fascinates.
Critical stuff: I can't think of anything that could be changed... It would be wrong to disturb the scene!
Overall: Excellent story telling. |

zby bvyComment by EL-ROI: Definite minimalism with the line. I think overall the tones of the shot are a drab medium grey and not very exciting. Nothing real dynamic to the composition other than the zig zag line and the off center placement of the subject. Perhaps a more overhead view would have added some needed perspective. |
