Wonderful subject. Nice composition. DOF does a nice job setting off the owl from its background. If the focus were sharper, and I could see the detail of the feathers, it would be a 9.

I really like this in a sentimental cute sorta way. Had this been taken when the sun wasn't so bright, like early in the morning or in the evening it might have been better for me. I know sometimes moments just happen, but you should pose them and re-shoot this without that fence in the background. It would be a "wall-hanger". 5
