Yeah, I noticed the same thing. It's probably because, you know, most people smile in portaits! |
Could be a sinful, debauched smile maybe? :) |

The Picture of Dorian Grayby bdennyComment by xianart: i do wish i'd reached this in my voting - the portrait of dorian gray is one of wilde's most interesting works - and you have done it quite well. it's really too bad so few people here knew it. |

The Picture of Dorian Grayby bdennyComment by colorcarnival: Oh is this in reference to the Oscar Wilde novel which I don't remember all that well now? (lol) Love the opposing perspectives (model vs. photograph). Similar shirt and ties - good balance! Selective desat - a good way to highlight the beauty of the aging photo. Awesome - love pictures with meaning!
Edit to add: I don't remember much about the story - did a little digging around to refresh my memory so what I am writing will probably not sound right, but it worked for me lol. Message edited by author 2007-06-01 10:16:26. |

Another Sleepless Nightby bdennyComment by purpleflutterby13: There's something nice and moody about this shot - it does seem to capture that frustrating, trapped feeling of insomnia (agh, can't sleep, grr, don't know what to do with myself, I'll try and close my eyes, nope, not working, argh!).
And I'm totally in favour of aesthetically pleasing male nudity :) |

designing perfect livesby bdennyComment by purpleflutterby13: Heh, what a cool idea :)
This is only marginally related, but I just read an article saying that the company which produces Prozac got a license to sell it as dog medicine, to treat 'separation anxiety' which occurs if the owners leave their pets by themselves for a long time. :) It's a strange world we live in. |
