Simple Timesby odriewComment by Jutilda: I love it when the view makes the humans so small. It's rather symbolic of how tiny we really are in the big scheme of things. There is an old song "Long Ago and Far Away," which immediately came to mind. Most images bring a song or a lyric into my head. I love that. Here are the lyrics:
Long ago and far away, I dreamed a dream one day
And now that dream is here beside me
Long the skies were overcast but now the clouds have passed
You're here at last
Chills run up and down my spine, Aladdin's lamp is mine
The dream I dreamed was not denied me
Just one look and then I knew
That all I longed for long ago was you
Chills run up and down my spine, Aladdin's lamp is mine
The dream I dreamed was not denied me
Just one look and then I knew
That all I longed for long ago was you

Simple Timesby odriewComment by tome: I love this, the color (and texture) is so film-like and there is a very summery feeling to it. Some interesting boats down there, too :). |

Maybe this time...by odriewComment by CNovack: You know I am a sucker for umbrellas (I actually have at least a dozen ...and there are one or two I have been eyeing to add to my collection:-) ) Love the underlying image with the natural leading lines of the walkway that extends to the vanishing point of the horizon. It leads the eye directly to the person with the umbrella. The b&w tones are perfect for calling to mind a grey and drizzly day. The rain overlay perfectly complements the mood by adding the the feel of dampness/wet to what the day feels like for those who take a stroll in the rain. |

Dum spiro speroby odriewComment by ursula: I kinda like it. It looks, to me, like a photo that's on the way to something good, but somehow it is missing out a bit on the storyline. I mean, the woman looks so free and unencumbered, her reflection and the water all around her support that, but then there's a straight line across the picture, above her head, and things are darker and in a different world there. That line stands out a lot more than I wish it would stand out, and I also somehow am not getting the connection between the top and the bottom part. I have to say though, any picture that makes you wonder, and think, is good. |

Dum spiro speroby odriewComment by patio127: We all have a different response to this - I say she's embracing the freedom of the beach & sea. I don't think it's a ship-looks more like a jetty. Anyway-I really like this :) |
