Well, that one shot will certainly give NASA something to think about, a spaceman there already! Your image fills the challenge brief well. I like the backdrop of the space scene it works well. I have to say that I find all the colours too garish, it feels more like a fish tank than a believable space scene. The lighting is a little too harsh with some near-blown highlights. I̢۪m sorry if I appear harsh but I hope this may explain your lower than expected score but please do keep at it Martin

I can accept to a point of using clip-art or external source images but in this composition I don't see any use of a digital camera. I like your idea, but as I said before, this is too much. I will give you a 3 for your idea and work.

Well, Thank you for your comment. I was hoping to get better results, but sometimes it's weird how it turns out. Well, I will keep trying.

If you do need to stoop to a dead bug as your macro subject, it's best to at least make some effort to make it look less dead.

You also have a very clear line / squiggle / cutout shape especially visible in the upper right differentiating between the sharp and blurry portions of the image - a failed focus stacking effort perhaps?
