Paperclipsby sagestudioComment by Annida: Just from the thumbnails, this ismy favourite of the week. It's original, and I like the line of the lady's neck against the blackness. lovely! |

Paperclipsby sagestudioComment by eloise: A 9, though it could have been ten for me if it didn't seem so blown-out, exposure-wise. As it is, it's clinging to the bottom of nine with its fingernails, to me; however, the overall image is so appealing that I had to grade it up from 8 on beauty. |

Paperclipsby sagestudioComment by zeuszen: Sometimes (!) I run into a photo with apparent flaws (contrast, lighting, focus...), when compared to the familar and usually sensible ways of photography.
Here, IMO, we have a photograph that relies very little on any extraneous codec. Everything is as it should be. It is, in short, a photo to be studied and learnt from.
The tension (dynamics) created between the 'frivolous' clips, the dignified (sorrowful?) face (a 'telling' mouth) and the hard and dry manner is what makes this an outstanding photo. The sculptural (bust-) effect achieved by blending the dress into the background and the very deliberate composition (the partial face) are extreme and cannot be done better.
I bow.

National Geographic-Wolves in Captivityby sagestudioComment by mrhbur: excelllent shot of a wolf..... maybe if you could next time play up on the captivity part....for example the chain link fence in the background is a major part and has been blured out to the onlooking passerbyer |

National Geographic-Wolves in Captivityby sagestudioComment by Gracious: You captured "The Howl!" The crop is not my ideal because the legs are cut off. I think in light of that I would have cropped tighter to include the close up of head and shoulders, or include the entire wolf with the legs intact.
The detail in the fur is very good and that pose is classic. What a beautiful animal. |
