All that is left...by sekarmalathyComment by Gatorguy: Hi, Critique Club here...
This one is easy for me because there is so much right about it. The colors all work together and I love the diagonals in the composition.
I can understand the comments and some of the lower scores for not being garden enough though. Even with those, you finished above 6, which is great.
What I would nitpick though is I think the white rock in the asphalt is a bit distracting. The black crack I both like and dislike. I like it because I think it balances out the composition. I dislike it because it's bold enough to attract attention and following it leads the eye out of the picture in either direction.
I didn't vote in this challenge but if I had, this would have gotten a 7 from me. Holding it back a little would have been the weakness in relating to the challenge.
Of course this is just one opinion, I hope it's helpful.

All that is left...by sekarmalathyComment by Kavey: Love the colours and textures, especially that sheen of rainbow on hte oil. But the tarmac surface doesn't really connote gardens to me! |

Into my dad's shoesby sekarmalathyComment by Ivory: Just love the angle, this is totally cool, I acutally expected to see it ribbon but still a great showing in the top 10. Love the look on his face! |

Into my dad's shoesby sekarmalathyComment by Nuzzer: Greetings from the Critique Club.
First impressions are that this rocks - it'd make a great poster!
Technically this is well done. Composition and POV are great to provide enough emphasis on the shoe while not allowing it to overwhelm the shot. Your lighting is superb (I wish I could master lighting like this) and the unnatural processing works here. Viewing this with the watermark is a shame as it does detract from the shot but them's the breaks.
Artistically this is great. The POV used gives a great sense of drama and scale. There are some distractions that I'd have cloned out. Just below his right eye is something (from the glasses?) that makes me think he's got boogers! Also, the reflection in the left lens is a huge distraction from both the subject of the shot (the shoe) and the overall feel of the shot.
In summary a great shot that was worthy top 10 material.
Feel free to PM me if you have any queries.
