Daisy - Want a Bone?by DrakeComment by blemt: Greetings from the Critique Club!
This is a beautiful dog and a promising idea. I like the way you tell a story in the image. I think some changes to lighting on this would really improve the overall feel and tone of the images. A darker mat behind the images would also possibly help draw the viewer into the image.
Keep shooting!

Come Visit South Havenby DrakeComment by kiwiness: This is an interesting shot. The sky is a nice deep tone of blue which makes those kites (?) stand out more. I don't know why but that bridge is a little disturbing, perhaps without it this would have been a lot more effective. Maybe you should have tried a few shots from the otherside of the bridge as well using a wide angle lens. |

Daisy - Want a Bone?by DrakeComment by Jacko: lol. Great shots of your dog. the flash left pretty harsh shadows but other than that an adorable set of shots. Jacko. 7 |

Daisy - Want a Bone?by DrakeComment by Swashbuckler: Cute and it does tell a story. Flash shots create some accidents of lighting, like the shadows on the right, middle of every frame, the shadow behind the dog, that sort of thing, plus it often lights up the background which is often better off blank. 7 Rob the Swash |

Candles in the darkby DrakeComment by jmsetzler: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Drake...
I believe that this is an intriguing composition... the color is subtle in most cases, but never-the-less, a strong element of this image. I like the light/dark contrast in this photo. I use similar compositional tactics myself in a lot of my own photos. The only compositional element that I could possibly make a suggestion for is the darkness at the bottom of the frame. Maybe cropping some of that out would create more of a 'base' for your candles to rise from. That negative space in the bottom of the frame gives me the impression that the candles and holder are floating in space.
I'm not really sure why this photo did not achieve a higher score. I think, based on some of the comments you received, that the impact of the color itself was not as strong as many would have liked to see.
Keep up the good work :)
