I see what you tried to do here. Unfortunately, it seems to me that lighting could have played a better role in this picture. As it is, it is more on the dull side visually. Also, I feel the image would have worked a lot better if you had moved the camera to the right so the curve line created by the skin and black bgr could almost touch the left corner of your image. It might have been a better composition... Worth trying.

The wavy petals to the right are very nice. Lighting and focus are uneven, which distracts from the image.
