Wide Eyesby shareinncComment by BobsterLobster: A great shot! Unfortunately, I think you've focused on the bridge of his/her nose rather than the eyes, and the dof is really shallow. Lighting is a bit too harsh, the glare on the eyes really detracts. Great composition though. 7 |

Soaking in the Raysby shareinncComment by adine: I like the warm brown of the sea lion against the cool blue of the rocks. The position really says "soaking in the rays" Wish the tail was sharper |

Soaking in the Raysby shareinncComment by STEINR: this is a beautiful picture, but it does not convey to me a feeling of hot or cold or anything in between, i really like the way the colors are displayed and will give a high score anyway, |

Soaking in the Raysby shareinncComment by BobsterLobster: Aren't these creatures from the Arctic Circle? That's why this doesn't convey warmth to me. It just makes me confused! I wish you'd captured his/ her face, as it is, the eye isn't sure what to focus on. I find it settles on the wrinkles, which I don't think should be the focal point. The patterns of colours in the background look haphazard, and don't add to the composition. The shadow looks a little harsh as a result of shooting in the midday sun. 5 |

Imperfect Beautyby shareinncComment by wingy: interesting how the curve at the top and bottom of the photo is almost the same. Some better lighting would have helped though, or at least a more crisp focus. |

Imperfect Beautyby shareinncComment by Pedro: as i said of the other shots in the challenge like this: the composition is quite obvious (kind of like saying "here's my boob" in a documentary fashion). using alittle more negative space onthe right would ease the composition a bit...it almost leads you off the page, rather than into the photo.
don't love the red hue, and I can't tell if that's lighting of post-shot. either way it's takes away some of the necessary detail for me. |
