Birds of a Featherby shareinncComment by justine: Unusual shot with an unusual crop/frame. There is just too much going on and too many chopped off areas. I do think you completed the challenge and the color is very nice. |

Magnolia Seedsby shareinncComment by faidoi: Good closeup of the seeds. The shadows and reflections really gives you a sense of the texture of the seed. The depth of field and the overblown background helps to push the foreground seed out of the picture. |

Magnolia Seedsby shareinncComment by Gracechild7: dof is too shallow, lighting is really hard, and the composition is strange. There is also a strange white blob up at the top. |

Saturday Afternoon Cruiseby shareinncComment by jmsetzler: I like canadian geese :) They are quite photogenic. This photo, as a land/waterscape seems to be ok, but there are a few opportunities I would have explored here. First of all, the composition of the 'horizon' splitting the center of the frame here seems to make me ask myself what it is in the top half of the frame that creates the interest for you. In general, when a horizon splits the frame in the center, there are equal amounts of interest on both sides of it. In this image, all of the interest is at the bottom of the frame. This composition does seem to help give some size and dimension perspective. If you want to include the far shoreline in this photo and keep a strong composition, maybe a lower angle photo would help a bit. You could still keep the geese in the frame and cut out a lot of the water between them and the land... bringing the horizon lower in the frame :) If I was aproaching this particular scene, i would have also probably tried to work a horizontal rather than vertical frame, but I don't know what is in this scene on the left or right... Likewise, I would have worked a tight composition of the geese alone.... |
