Great texture shot. I just want to reach out and touch the feathers. I like the angle because it certainly puts the emphasis on the feather and their texture....not just the bird. Technically would have liked it a little brighter if it could be done without losing the detail.

very nice, but perhaps more USM would have made the feather texture stand out and 'pop'. the lower foreground feathers appear noisy to me

Superb. The DOF sets the flower apart from the others very nicely. It may be interesting to experiment with contrast to deepen the tones. Very nice image! 9

If the photo had something with a soft focus in the foreground to indicate a 'Shallow Depth of Field' I would have given it another point.
