cutoutComment by Paul: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: This is certainly a bold offering, full of ambiguity - basic form?, wet?, dry?, macro?, true colour?, orientation?, natural light?, tungsten?, strobe?, added vignette? No clues. The image is uncompromising and unconventional.
Critical stuff: All of the above - the flip side of the same coin. The lack of reference points makes this a quite inaccessible image, I quite like abstracts but here the lack of line, flow, balance or any form of harmony makes this quite a jarring image.
Overall: I'm hoping that my reaction to the image persuades you that you have had the sort of reaction you wanted to provoke. I don't really like the image but I'm pretty sure that having people like it is at the bottom of your list of aspirations.
