great idea! it might have been neat to have the pencil sharpened so that it is actually pointing in the direction. Also, it would have been awesome if, by chance, a bug of some kind crawled up on the pencil and started marching along! I really like how this photo makes the pencil look super long because of how far from each other the rocks seem to be! this may be one of my favorites in this challenge
