Ryanby MarioAngelComment by idp: He looks happy - nice bokeh - I think I might have moved him out of the shade a little if that was possible |

Ryanby MarioAngelComment by SandyP: He's got a great look. Such a warm smile and handsome face :)
He's very striking looking! I think if you dodged just a tiny bit in the whites of his eyes and maybe even a bit of the midtones in the Irises, his beautiful eyes would pierce right through us!
He is really great portrait material!

Ryanby MarioAngelComment by dsterner: Ryan seems very relaxed for the camera. I trust we'll see more of him since he has such a great face and smile. |

Ryanby MarioAngelComment by kashi: wonderful expression and pose. Handsome model too !
You've got some nice bokeh going here too.
The eyes need to be brightened up though - the shadows in them are kind of harsh. What does it look like if you isolate them and do a light dodge ? |

contre éclairage publicby MarioAngelComment by glad2badad: Ah, yes. The sun lighting the lamp. :) I have one of these floating around somewhere. I'll have to find it for afterwards. He-he.
This works well for the challenge. You have nice cloud details (especially in the bottom). Seeing some haloing around the lamp post that I don't think is from backlighting (i.e. - sharpening?). While looking at this with my lousy work monitor I'm seeing some compression artifacting in the sky area.
Just some observations. :) Good luck in the challenge. |

Quentinby MarioAngelComment by acrotide: I like the perspective and the shallow DOF. The reflection in the glasses is a bit distracting, but an all around good capture nonetheless. |

b/w self portraitby MarioAngelComment by SandyP: I love portraits done with the dramatic partial lighting of the face. I'm with the others in that I think some eye contact may have made this even better. But I'm really impressed with the moodiness and the drama of the lighting you chose.

b/w self portraitby MarioAngelComment by timfythetoo: Very nice. I like the barely visible eye and the barely visible highlights int he hair. Offers up just enough detail and really sets the mood. |
