I like how everyone is on a different plane and only the one guy is looking at the camera. All that bright space above is distracting, though; maybe tilt the shot lower.

Well, that exploding 'thing' behind cop no. 2 is sourly destracting. Maybe should have got closer to get more detail on these cops....

This would be a nice humor photo. How did you set this up? Are you a police?

Makes me wonder what the three officers in the middle are looking at. In this shot, I think the stuff on the building providing the background is distracting. I think a more neurtral background would have been more appropriate for these police officers. Plus, you cut off some of their feet. This works being candid, but it bugs me..wanting to know what they are looking at. Thinking about it, however, to me, magazine cover shots are usually set up and not candid.

This definately says home to me I see a little dog every day too on the sofa when I come in the door. The concept and composition are very good for this challenge.

Your focus appears to be soft on the entire image and a unsharping mask may have helped with that. Also as mentioned in the other comments the white balance may be an issue here, if you can set your white balance set if for soft lighting indoors if not when you edit your photo set your color balance towards the blue to help pull the yellow tones out.

Overall the image is interesting and does meet the challenge.
