This is just too dark for my liking. I don't see much here that I can say I like. 4

the reflections of the sun, and the way you were able to only capture the light rather than all the other colors that would normally be around in a sunset picture. love the shot. an 8 in my book.

A beautiful moon lit night, reflection on sea draws your eye in but too much negative space on both sides of the pic, seems to reduce the impact. Perhaps tighter cropping or different exposure setting.

Nicely wrapped in negative space; I really like how the sea is exposed only through a bit of reflection. Deliciously simple composition!

For all that assumed a strike you were correct but the next pitch was a shot up the right field foul line for a double

Greetings from the Critique Club

Oh, galant try! You nearly got that ball in focus. You sure did a good job on getting detail on the kid. Good placement in the frame and great expression on the boy.

It's a bit 'hot' so you might try a little adjusting with "levels" and "curves" in Photoshop Elements or whatever editing program you prefer. Because this image can pop with just a little tinkering.

As a candid, it's okay to have all that background, and hey, you got the shot, but it's a good idea to position yourself so that the good shots come with a nice tidy background. (Just a thought) Another thought: think about blurring that background out a little, now that your image is out of competition. Because it's a keeper.

Meanwhile, I see you are new to DPC; this is your fourth Challenge. Welcome, and I hope to see lots more of your images.

This had to be a strike. Unless this kid has amazing bat speed :-)

Strike! Good composition and excellent timing, but the people in back are distracting, though it's very hard to eliminate that. Maybe if you could reduce DOF.
