High Wire Cowby KINGComment by jjbeguin: Critique Club Time
Your Highness,
Congratulations on finding the appropriate book title for your entry!
It seems, though, that the excitement related to your new purchase has led you to show some uncustomary haste I your creation process.
At first glance, I see two âclassic flawsâ and an incongruity you could have avoided easily by:
1°) leveling your horizon (slanted horizons will invariably give a snapshot feel to a picture)
2°) placing you main subject in a more harmonious manner (this is debatable and certainly not an absolute rule but main subjects placed dead center in an open environment rarely enhance a composition.)
3°) moving one step ahead to by-pass the blurry grass patch hiding the cowâs reflexion in the foreground.
I think you will probably agree with me that this is not your most accomplished or well thought of shot and lets keep it at that.
Good luck with your new camera
JJ

Be yourself, Be different, Stand out! by KINGComment by lbWhaples: This is a nice image, one of my top. Good choice focusing on the topic of your title. Your light source dramatically brings out the texture in the wooden board and pieces. My only criticism is that the tone is maybe a bit too warm. |

Be yourself, Be different, Stand out! by KINGComment by piwoguy: Technically this is an attractive image. In terms of content, it does seem to fall a little flat for me. The command to be an individual seems so much more thrilling than these chess pieces can allow for, and it's like you're almost reducing the ideal to something a little mundane. I think you can still use the chess pieces to spread that kind of message, but you'd have to make a more radical image - right now it's like trying to tell someone to "be unique" when the image itself looks like it's a stock photo for magazine ads. But don't get me wrong! it still does look good visually. |
