I'm not sure about the author's intent here - I think I know, but I'm not getting a real feel for it. As an image, it's very competant, DOF is well controlled and the subtle color mix is truly effective. I like the font, but there are problems with the drop/3D effects as parts of the individual letters disappear - particularly the M and N. This type of font works well with more contrasty backgrounds. I would mark this higher if I was sure of the author's intent.
