Shoot! Just wrote an enormous comment and lost it. In brief, I love all the elements of sea and sky and light - no one mentioned the scudding clouds above the pier echoing the wavelets just beneath the horizon - great contrast to what's going on under the pier... For some reason the composition looks stronger in the thumbnail. (Agree the framing is distracting - lines of the pier and the strong lights and darks don't need the competition/interference).

Its cold! I thought it was interesting that you kept all the pier below the horizon. Only prob, as other also said, that it kept the pier a little dark. Its not really an issue though beacause the closer part of the pier is well lit

Cool shot, I like the perspective and composition but would like to see it a bit brighter in the shadows to the right.

You remind me that the eye often travels from a blur to clarity. Always there is the need for resolution, understanding, sight in the human mind. Like someone being drawn to the light away from the dark my eye travels from right to left.

Great angle and leading lines. I don't really like the border. Not sure if it is the small size of the shot and the huge area of the white in the border or what..but it bothers my eyes for some reason. Really hard to focus on the shot.

Looks just a little too chilly to be out shooting to me! The grate/fence at the start of the dock kinda halts my eye a bit before letting me follow the dock out into the frame.

I love bridge photos. And the urban feel of the black and white and the slushy snow. Yes. A most effective mood photo. :)

Feels cold. Good B&W conversion. I do like the way the pier leads you into the picture.

like this capture, the only thing i would change is maybe get lower and shoot up at the dock, but that might not be a good idea considering the enviroment. nice contrast/bw convert, the dock creates nice leading lines. i like how the ice and water look in bw. nice picture.

Needs to be leveled. Otherwise, a great b&w.
