The clarity on this shot is amazing, almost too sharp but not quite. The angle of the cross to the bible is well doen and the ribbon running through the shot is a bit of a distraction, maybe if it was at a different angle? The white of the table in the lower left is a bit too bright, really draws me away from the rest of the shot. I started this at a 4 but am bumping it up to a 6

the lighting needs work. you can get rid of those hot spots by diffusing your light (or flash) through some tissue paper. a little reflector use from behind, or some backlighting would fill in those shadows as well. lastly, it might look a little softer on a darker surface - the white is overpowering in what i would consider a softer subject. Nice idea, crisp focus.

Sharp leather, nice wood grain. is there water on the cross? perhaps a little greater DOF would make it easier to see. the glow from below is ethereal, but a bit intense.
