Natures Purple, Man's Yellowby K-RobComment by marco: Honestly, I don't think you took this image while thinking of a way to shoot complementary colors ;o) But it sure turns out like one, although I really think that more colorful images would score better.
You did however manage to capture a great lightning here. Composition works well, with the massive clouds above and the tiny objects below. The area of improvement lies in these objects, though. There not completely clear and in focus. The ground-scene also looks tilted because of the non-vertical poles. Imho, the image would have had much more impact without the ground-elements. But then you loose one of your two colors offcourse :o)) Regards and good luck, Marco. |

Natures Purple, Man's Yellowby K-RobComment by e301: I'd like to see this srtaghtened so that the lamp-posts and flag-poles aren't slanting. I actually think this might have been more intersting withoutt the lightning - it isn't a particularly intersting strike. |

Bent Spoon or Bent World?by K-RobComment by Amiee: Nice image. I really like how you provided the image with the special effects in the background. The shadow and lighting that you used for the photo also creates a lot of attraction to the image. Good job. |

Natures Purple, Man's Yellowby K-RobComment by qachyk: Wow this is a very cool picture -- I always have the worst luck trying to capture lightning and so I always appreciate good shots of it -- I think in terms of hitting the depiction of the complementary colours it falls a bit short. Too much of the photo is taken up by the clouds and sky, which add nothing to the point. |

Bent Spoon or Bent World?by K-RobComment by e301: Good shot - worked a little on something similar myself. I think the code is a bit obvious, not sure it was necessary to quote directly from the film imagery, though I guess just a bent spoon wouldn't be understood by those who don't know the film. Two minor points: the scratches on the spoon are a pity (they make it a real world object, which is perhaps out of place in such a photo), and the organisation of the fingers is a touch distracting - but they're minor points. |
