30 Day Macro - Day 9by LincComment by Linc: Originally posted by socalsteve: Pretty good - I'd darken it a bit (blacks) in PP a bit more to bring out some more detail and edges. |
Can you explain 'PP' for me? I don't know what that means. Also, when I darken it you lose the detail some in the shadows on the dots. I wanted to leave it so you could see it. This really isn't a very good images for this, but I was pressed and all the images that I took earlier didn't look any good at all. I really wanted to incorporate the number nine for day nine in the image and since the others failed, this was the best I could do on short notice.
Thanks for the comment. |

30 Day Macro - Day 8by LincComment by MelonMusketeer: That's a flathead "V8" Ford. My grandfather had a 32 Ford pickup truck, and we drove it to go fishing along roadsides in the Florida Everglades when I was growing up. He called the truck "Leapin' Lena." The model "B" Ford was introduced in 32. Here's a link about the motor in your photo. Flathead Ford site
It is difficult to photograph something so shiny when it is in a lot of light like in your shot. It looks good in your image. |

30 Day Macro - Day 8by LincComment by one2one: Nice. I thought the metal bolt heads were some cheap plastic light ornament but realized they were bolts when I saw the many hot spots coming from all the lights in the room. Good capture. |
