After Eightby inshaalaComment by Luci11e: hmmmm, not so sure about that stem there, seems that a cup that size the coffecc would still have to be somewhat visible at this angle to be stemming hot; still a nice image, well set up, well composed, and nice lighting |

After Eightby inshaalaComment by jgoings: I really like this set up. The lighting is wonderful and the composition is clean and attractive. My only thought, because that mug dips down in the front, I'm like 'where's the coffee?' I like the use of smoke though. |

Thanks. Nothing out of the ordinary - it was a lightroom conversion so there was some vibrancy added i suppose. Most of the colour was present in the first place (food dye fed to a split stem over a couple of days). |
Aha, food dye and a split stem. I remember doing this in school once but have long forgotten that it could be done. I will have to try that. Thanks for the explanation!!! |

Gerberaby inshaalaComment by inshaala: In terms of meeting the challenge, the colours stand out more because of the expanse of black (and the subject is pushed off centre) meaning you arent blasted with the subject and colours... It is a subtle use of negative space but evidently because it didnt fill more than 1/2 the frame i think i got marked down... |

Gerberaby inshaalaComment by MCPixel: Very nice and different, I like the colours on the petals, your clarity is great and your composition is perfect - well done. |
