I'm not religious, but I believe that we are reunited with our loved ones, and that includes pets.... when our time comes upon us.

My Mum died just over a year ago, so I feel your pain, I really do.

This looks great in B&W, wonderful contrast! If you moved the subject so that he wasn't so centered, it might make the composition more dynamic. He has a very nice expression on his face, too

I'd say that of all your self portraits, this one is the best. Not only technically (comp, sharpness, contrast and lighting) but this pose is the most attractive and your smile genuine.
