Other panther.jpgby bennettjamieComment by Tez: the cat is too dark and the background is to bright. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the composition. The cat's head is right in the middle of the frame which just does nothing for me and is rather boring. Personally, more space around the cat to the top left of the frame would have been nice to give the impression that it is looking into the space, rather than just staring at a brick wall.
It might help if you warmed up the colours a bit too, they look a bit cold, a bit blue and a bit flat. If you have curves on your photoshop, that could help you out a lot here: once in the blue channel to warm things up, and again on RGB to make the midtones a bit punchier. |

Other panther.jpgby bennettjamieComment by bennettjamie: Originally posted by david1707: Beautiful shot. What I would do is make a copy of it with the levels brightened until the cat comes out, then add the photo above to the next layer, mask it, then bring the cat from the base level through. |
I really wish I knew how to do that!! I will figure it out though. I have photoshop elements 4... |

Reflections.jpgby bennettjamieComment by MelonMusketeer: This is a very pretty "Florida" looking shot. The still water and the colors are sweet. Autumn in Florida is much more subtle than it is in the northern states, but it is beautiful if you learn to see it. I like the one big trunk on the left edge that sort of anchors the shot. |
