Four stages - bud to witherby joekentComment by Nielsp: Nice composition with the 3 yellow flowers. In direct sunlight the harshness of light means a loss of fine detail and light tones in flower leaves. Having a fondness for abstract my I really likes the one closed bud just about to open. I think that could make a great subject with richer tones and colours. The blueish background works to contrast the yellows. |

Four stages - bud to witherby joekentComment by v5planet: The top flower is a little distracting in this composition because it detracts from the progression you establish in your title. A tighter crop removing the top third of the photo would make this a bit stronger I think. |

Four stages - bud to witherby joekentComment by kandykarml: nice image here.. I like the colors, love the border.. Great composition & fits the challenge really well.. the sun looks a little harsh so the lighting is a tad brighter then what I'd like to see.. overall 9 for me. |

Four stages - bud to witherby joekentComment by ShannonLee: i am not a huge fan of flower pics
they usually tend to be very forgettable
i understand the concept you were going for, but its just not my favorite subject matter

Cranesby joekentComment by mpeters: I'm sure voters may be a little fatigued with selective desat picture but this one carries it off well. |

Cranesby joekentComment by v5planet: Excellent use of selective desaturation. The boat seems a little bit superfluous and distracting however, considering the cranes are the focus of the photo. A tighter crop around them or a composition that focused on them would've made this even stronger. |
