Ravenby scottiehamComment by vawendy: Raven's are such interesting birds! Nice shot! Did you try shadows/highlights to bring out the feathers a little more? ah, skip that--just looked at your portfolio--you know what you're doing :D Message edited by author 2009-09-10 19:54:47. |

He's actually dropping it on purpose to break it open! It took 2 drops though... |

Semipalmated Ploverby scottiehamComment by J-Me: I think we're going to see a lot of bird shots and it's so nice to see the different species. I may become a bird expert by the time this challenge finishes.
Really nice detail and capture! |

White-Breasted Nuthatchby scottiehamComment by J-Me: I think the depth of color and contrast are just right! I'm looking at it on a laptop screen so it may not be the most accurate but, then again, this is the computer I have and what I use to do my editing. :) May explain my lower scores though! LOL
Actually quite a lovely and beautifully done shot! Love it! |

White-Breasted Nuthatchby scottiehamComment by MelonMusketeer: Many people probably mistook this for a blue jay in the thumb view, and passed over it in voting. There are a couple of spots, the cheek and the one wing coverlet where the white is almost washed out as you mentioned in your comment. I am not sure how the color saturation is supposed to look on the bird, as I don't think that I have ever seen one in the wild. The bokeh is very nice, and focus/detail is also spot on. |
