Weee...the joys of Spring!by SonifoComment by Sonifo: I just got the camera so I am just learning how to do that. Yes, I do do that.
I took this shot knowing what it was going to look like. I like the results. I know it is hard to please everyone and that is ok...but a 2? I just don't see a 2 in this shot, but that is ok. I forgive you. ;-)
To a photo doesn't have to look like a beautiful piece of art. It can be fun, abstract and even downright unexplainable.
If I were to change this shot I would have put some flowers in by the side to give it that spring feel like John had mentioned.
Lila is going to look back at this shot when she turns 20 or so and see what her favorite thing to do was in the Spring of 2004. |

Weee...the joys of Spring!by SonifoComment by pitsaman: Originally posted by Sonifo: I didn't use dodge on the photo. I took this in the middle of the day with a slower shutter speed. It made the shot really really bright.
I just added mainly contrast to give it depth. I should show you the original when I get time to hunt it down.
Pitsaman, I wasn't expecting this to do well either, but a 2 from you is a big surprise. |
Do you do what I do? After every shot I push PREVIEW than INFO button.Check the exposure mountain on histogram.Move EV + or - and reshot until gets proper on the middle and no overexposed amount.? Message edited by author 2004-04-06 16:14:35. |

Weee...the joys of Spring!by SonifoComment by pitsaman: Originally posted by Sonifo: Thanks Darcy! I knew it wouldn't do well here. It is way to abstract for the voters.
I just can't believe I got a 2 from pitsman. Oh well.
Thanks again!

Even a 10 would not help much, you know math,my comment was that the main point of the photo was a child and motion blur got washed out by overdodging ! Message edited by author 2004-04-06 03:13:46. |

Weee...the joys of Spring!by SonifoComment by tyt2000: I'm surprised this didn't finish in the top ten. I think it shows enough motion to fit the playful situation. I also liked the post editing, it really fits the innocence displayed in the photo. I was one of the few who gave it a 9.
Great work, good luck in your upcoming challenges... |
