Trying to figure out exactly what this is. At first i though it was the deck of a ship, but that would not be a macro and they would not be chromed. Must be a guitar then. I think the needed depth of field for this subject was not there.

Greetings from the Critique Club

I always like to see this style of image. You've got to go out on a dark night, set up a tripod and hope the traffic flow will give you a good pattern of light. And you really can't check until you get back home! Then too, you probably have to take some care not to get run over.

All that in mind, there you were. I have an idea that if your road had been more interesting, say with a curve in it, you would have scored better. And, yes, as one of your commenters said, that cluster of lights at the vanishing point was a problem, as the vanishing point was obscured, and slightly fuzzy.

But it's a good start, and I expect you'll be out there on another road one of these days, trying again.

Keep 'em coming!

Hey there from the Critique Club

Camera Work/Technical: Crisply focused for shooting lights and well-captured. Just glancing at it, I didn't really see much to the image. That may have cost you and tenth or two from the voters. Now, spending some time with it, I see what you have captured here.

Lighting: Your lighting is solely provided by the subject of your image. Nice idea and great concept.

Composition/Content: The tilt definitely adds interest to this capture. You also chose a great font that fits right in with the overall feel of the image.

My Opinion: I think that many voters passed it by, as I did when I first saw it. Even still, you managed a strong score and a well-deserved finish.

Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric
