A bit underexposed which made the highlights work well but _still_ (sry) you should have lighten up the shadows even with postprocessing. I really like that you presented a classic still life. Thank you.

Comment by Camabs:
This pic deserved its low grade. It's slightly ou-of-focus, but with this kind of DOF, that's quite a big deal. I didn't notice the red boat in the back while taking the photo, and what's worse, I didn't think of cropping the picture to get ridd of it. All in all, IQ is below my own standards, I shouldn't have submitted it.

Please note that it's made with the 50mm 1.8, not the 35mm 2.0

I think this deserved a better score, but that's probably a matter of taste. It is NOT underexposed imo, as the highlights are actually white and the entire shape of the key is vissible.

I am not too proud of this picture. I still like the idea, but my dear cat is probabaly a bit too old (17) to play this role credibly. If a picture like this came by today, I would have probably given it a 5 myself.

I Agree with both comments. If both apples were entirely within the DOF, the oranges would still be soft enough and the picture would be much better. Nevertheless I still like the picture for it's bright colours and composition. I might do a remake some day.

I think this pic got about the grade it deserved, so I am happy. With hindsight, I probably should have sharpened it less and may have used a slightly deeper DOF instead.

Post challenge: not a very good grade for this one. From what I read from the comments, some people do not recognize or appreciate irony. Too bad for them, I still like the picture, and obviously still love my son.

looks like this was shot under flourescent lighting.. Too much green.. You can use a magenta film over your lense to correct that... UNLESS, IT WAS INTENTIONAL !! Still too green for me..
