Day 1by HipychikComment by colorcarnival: Oh I like the dark moody feel. Got a moon you can throw in here? lol The tree in front adds a nice touch. Will be looking forward to seeing the edited version. |

Contemplating Timeby HipychikComment by silverfoxx: very sad and touching photo. I wish it was just a little bit more in focus, but on the other hand the unfocus:) gives such a great candid feeling. I like her expression too. |

Contemplating Timeby HipychikComment by Dantzr: A photo-journalistic shot, especially for those of us who have been there.
Good idea to use B&W... wouldn't have been as poignant if in color or if the contrast was any higher.
Great job! |

Day 1by HipychikComment by Shmee: I really don't mind the darkness. I think you picked a good exposure to keep the detail in the shadows and highlighs. Maybe just 1/3 of a stop or 1/2 might have made the front a bit brighter, but it's not worth it if you lose the detail (IMO).
Also, the line of the church isn't quite strait...very nitpicky of me, but that's lot of what I'm trying to focus on this challenge...I'm usually HORRIBLE at paying attention to straight horizens, etc. Anyway, I measured it in Photoshop and it's only like .57 degrees off. It doesn't really change much, but rotating it .57 degrees clockwise just makes the steeple look a bit more straight. |
