Creative work on the sky, but it is too in-your-face so it distracts from the subject. Maybe try changing the opacity of that layer so it is more of a hint of the pattern.

Like the story here quite a bit. The background works very well, too. Halo effect around her head is kind of patchy and unrealistic on my monitor, particularly on the portrait.
