Beautiful Like Youby HipychikComment by bvy: Very well composed -- the wicker surface, vase, flowers and wallpaper all coordinate nicely. And the colors are fantastic. It looks like the flowers are brushing against the wall on the left -- that's a little distracting to me. Also, I would like to have seen clearer focus. |

Beautiful Like Youby HipychikComment by Quasimojo: The HDR effect it a bit too strong - there's haloing happening all around the plant, and there are unsightly hard shadows cast onto the wall behind. The vase itself isn't that interesting or appealing, and the wall paper seems a very muted colour. The flowers themselves could do with some sharpness and richer colour palette. And compositionally a vase of flowers just isn't that interesting. Hope this helps. |

Lela and Marisaby HipychikComment by JuliBoc: Love these two. The furry of the one, and the staring onlooker in the background. Even though the older girl is in soft focus, I think she becomes the primary and most interesting subject. Terrific shot.
P.S. I like the noise in the background too. Really nice effect. Message edited by author 2008-03-07 21:04:16. |

Harley (Little Freak) Davidsonby HipychikComment by jaysonmc: I feel like I looking at some Star Wars character. ;) That's a good thing. A pet with a personality. Love the tones in the hair. Just beautiful tones, and those browns...awwww.. |

Growing Old Togetherby HipychikComment by noraneko: Terry, I think this is really beautiful. I was one of your 9's. I'm a bit stumped by those who gave you 1's, 2's, 3's and 4's - what were they thinking? My only nit is the bush on the left-hand side - it pulls my eyes out of the photo a bit - I think it would be stronger with some clean space in that area. However, it's a minor nit, and this is a very, very strong photo with a story to it. Great title, by the way. |

With A Purple Umbrella And A Fifty Cent Hatby HipychikComment by spistole: The exposure here is near-perfect, just a little blown in the snow. The clarity is also very nice. I'm still deciding whether or not I like the square-ish composition, maybe cropping out more of the background to her right would have a better feel? Also, I think the purple umbrella would stand out a bit more if the model's clothes weren't so colorful.
6 for a good idea/execution |
