Table for One, Pleaseby CharleneComment by colorcarnival: I'm kind of laughing that you brought your camera on a date lol. But I guess I am not surprised either. How cute that you got to go see him!
This photo has such a classic and nostalgic feel to it. The soft white lighting all over is so very cool. What a beautiful place to get together. |

Table for One, Pleaseby CharleneComment by Alicia: Oh Charlene - I so loved this during voting. It's horribly underrated. The way you captured this space, the B&W processing and the softness all make it very romantic and timeless. Great job. |

Table for One, Pleaseby CharleneComment by BAMartin: This is the most beautiful shot I have seen in ages. As Jon pointed out, there is a nostalgic almost sad feel to it, like an old Bogart movie or a voyage on the Titanic. This may be your very best photo to date (IMHO of course).
Black and white absolutely MAKES this photo. If I can seen it in voting (I did not make it all the way through) it would have scored a 10.
In all honesty, I am not surprised that it is yours. |

Table for One, Pleaseby CharleneComment by jonfrommk: Grrr I cant believe that after trailing me in the scores all week I ended up eating your dust right at the end
A beautiful atmospheric shot which has a haunting/slightly sad quality to it. I love the black and white conversion you have used. The low key and slight noise works really well in this case
A very nice image
ETA....Hahahaha I only just saw your comment....I dont know whether to try and act all tough by saying "Of course I made you wait...treat 'em mean keep 'em keen" or point out the truth of the matter which is that I was working but actually arrived earlier than estimated!!!! Reflections of Fallen Heroesby CharleneComment by noraneko: I find this a most interesting photo, and under-appreciated by the voters. I really like the sense of chaos, which could be a deliberate metaphor for the war. I think you should consider entering this in some different venues. It may not be the "right" kind of eye-candy shot for DPC, but has a lot of merit and is a photo of which you should be proud. |

Reflections of Fallen Heroesby CharleneComment by jonfrommk: I TOLD you we should have photographed the Liberty Bell!!!
I really cant believe that this did not score better although the fact that 17 people scored it 7 or higher does show that there were people out there who really liked it
I love the fact that you managed to catch so much of the etched faces and bodies on the memorial together with glimpses of the reflections of the statues behind it
A great memory of a lovely day
