Nice shot, great lighting, decent on the textures, could be a bit sharper perhaps, but good enough, I just don't agree with the line above the flower, I have no idea what it is, sorry to say it does distract enough to hurt the score. Id do some spot editing and remove it. 5

Comment by Ken:
Very nice lighting and composition; great job capturing the essence of childhood. My only nitpick are the vertical reflections, but it's only a minor thing.

Edit: I wasn't clear above... the reflections add some nice texture to the background but are just a bit bright and pull my eye from your subject.

I hardly ever like photographs of flowers, but this is a 'hardly ever' moment. It's no coincidence of course, that you chose the title you did. For the same reason, this lily is also the symbol of the Easter Rising of 1916 in Ireland, celebrated in WB Yeats's great poem of a 'terrible beauty' ΓΆ€“ Easter 1916:
"... We know their dream; enough
to know they dreamed and are dead.
And what if excess of love
bewildered them till they died?..."

Your choice of areas to highlight are amazing. I love how parts of her just pop out of the darkness. She looks so innocent, especially while holding the toy. This scene makes you wonder what she is thinking while sitting there all alone in the dark.

This seems to be a very sad story. A room waiting for a child that isn't going to be there. The composition, the light, the objects shown all create this story for me.

lensbabies usually make me dizzy lol. I like that most of the blur is muted down by the darkness. The thing that pulled me into this is the simplicity and the light. There are few items in this but it creates some kind of curious mood. Beautiful shot.
