The Great Leapby CharleneComment by colorcarnival: I didn't vote or enter in this challenge but I will say that I had a pic ready to go - and it was of a swing! lol I like how you have the top of the swing coming diagonally into the picture. I also like the criss-cross of the moving swings. Parts of the seats do blend into the background, but what ya gonna do? I also like the contrast of the ground - it really brings out the texture of the wood shavings. |

The Great Leapby CharleneComment by posthumous: the "merging" is what's good about it. exciting diagonal composition. the swings are almost lost in the darkness of memory. |

The Great Leapby CharleneComment by jonfrommk: Boy I read all of Nutzitos comments and it almost made me feel guilty for really liking the shot exactly as it is!
I appreciate that a lot of people did use swings but I thought the motion on this shot helped set it apart from others. I can just imagin some kid flying through the air screaming Wheeee as they catapult themselves from the swing
Really nice job and another good finish |

The Great Leapby CharleneComment by WalesP: It must have been a great idea if so many minds thought in that direction. I like the B&W and I enjoyed reading all of nutzito's comments. Nice job Charlene. |

The Great Leapby CharleneComment by nutzito: Too bad it was the same idea used by a few others. I am sure that has afected the score.
About possible improvements:
*better if one of the leather seats was not intersecting one of the poles.
*a bit shallower dof to isolate the main subject a bit more from the bg.
*duotone works fine but it eliminates the use of color to isolate main subject from bg, so some S/H adjustment could have been made to avoid the merging.
*a little tighter crop on top and left would have helped to get more detail at 640px dpc. Message edited by author 2008-01-30 20:15:19. |
