This is a marvelous shot. The iridescence is beautiful, and I like the little pearls in their little compartments. The geometry is very nice, and I am fascinated by the little hands at work. I am guessing that the score was lower than deserved because the voters were concentrating on the wings. To me they really are not the main focus of the shot, but if wings are being judged, they are a little blown in the highlights and a little soft in the focus.

Gotta admit... there's alot of flowers and animals in this one... but this is the only corn on the cob I've seen so far. Points for originality, and more point for a great photograph. No complaints here.

quick run through noise ninja would have helped the sky slightly ... you are allowed to clone out sensor dust in basic ... really nice lightning capture ...
