Day 3by WriteHeartComment by Tlemetry: Very interesting how the flower combines colors. Lovely crop to show the color variations in the petals.

Day 3by WriteHeartComment by Bear_Music: Lots of potential, I'd add to what others have said that it could use a detail boost in the dark upper right, in PP. |

Day 3by WriteHeartComment by ursula: Gaillardia for sure. The detail/colour on the petals is very good, and I like the green background. If it were me, I'd consider cropping just a little off the right hand side (to get rid of the little green thing at bottom right) and a bit more off the top (again, to get rid of the green intrusion). I'd also add a bit more space on the left, to avoid cutting off that one petal - if you're going to cut off portions, make it intentional, so that it doens't look like an accident. The flower inside looks a bit soft, maybe using a DOF just a bit bigger would help overall? Message edited by author 2007-07-03 13:44:14. |

Day 3by WriteHeartComment by lynnmarie: This is commonly known as Indian blanket flower (Gaillardia) in the family Asteraceae (sunflower family). They grow wild in Kansas, but I've noticed a lot of people plant them in their gardens. I just love the bright red and yellow combination. |
