I really like the pose of the dog but the background is fighting with the forground for attention. It is hard to shoot dark subjects with a dark background. Have you tried using a small white tree or setting the dog on a white blanket in front of the tree..heheh..or even in a wrapped gift box. Love the sparkle in the dogs eye!
